Dear Tom and the Newbie team

Once again we entered 2 teams in your Newbie competition and had a wonderful time at your new premises, The Mowbray.   Any doubts we had about travelling to the new venue were dispelled as the location is perfect for our players coming from Cape Town.  Travelling from Claremont was also no problem.   Once again the competition was well run and we managed to finish before the sun went down. 

We are looking forward to the next competition in October and perhaps we should arrange to have a couple of warm-ups before then.  Newbiebowls is synonymous with the arrival of summer, sundowners and boerie rolls.

A good friend of mine recently left for Australia and we decided to send him off with a day of bowling. About twenty of us enjoyed an awesome day at Mowbray Bowls club. The majority of us had never played bowls, let alone after a couple of beverages-lots of beverages due to the dirt cheap prices. Everybody was catered for in terms of having their own set of bowls (balls).

After the elbow took a bit of strain, the clubhouse was the perfect place to sit back and watch some quality sport on the flatscreen TV. With two bowling greens, Mowbray Bowls Club is clearly able to host parties of all nature. R50 well spent and we will definitely be going back. Thank you

A few week's ago I organised a Bachelor party and booked the Mowbray Bowling Club for the event. As far as facilities go, the Mowbray is an excellent venue for a wide range of events and the clubhouse is in excellent condition. The big screen TV linked to a comprehensive sound and entertainment system; the well equipped kitchen; excellent braai facilities; and last but not least, the fully stocked bar (with the best prices on drinks you'll find in Cape Town by far!) are just a few of the features of the venue. The clubhouse and outside area are also of a good size to accommodate both a small or larger group of people; while the view from the clubhouse overlooking Cape Town only adds to the attractiveness of the venue. Tom and his team at the Mowbray were extremely accommodating and helpful in assisting with making arrangements for the party; and exclusive use of the venue for the evening came at very reasonable price.

I can strongly recommend the Mowbray as a venue for Bachelor parties, 21sts and birthday parties; team building events; as well as for more formal occasions - both big and small. We had an awesome, unforgettable night at the Mowbray and still managed to get the Groom to his wedding rehearsal on time the next morning!

Hi Tom

After two years people are still talking about the bowls 21st and asking for another one. It was an excellent way of accommodating young and old. Everybody could participate and all who did had fun. We were amazed at how people entered into the spirit, dressing up in team colours and arranging teams before the day. The spectacular setting also adds to the enjoyment of the celebration.
